Course overview
This course will provide students with practical experience in applying their discipline knowledge and skills, and to reflect deeply on the relevance and applicability of previous studies in their program to professional practice. Students will undertake an internship, placement or project, enabling them to apply the discipline-specific knowledge and skills acquired during their program in a professional context, helping to prepare them for transition to employment and consolidating their preparation for lifelong learning. Students will apply advanced skills to critically analyse and reflect on their experiences in relation to their study, critiquing professional practice in terms of their theoretical knowledge and reflecting on modern workplace practices. Students with a Grade Point Average of Credit and above (GPA > 5.0) will be given the option to undertake an internship in an industry position appropriate to their professional major for 80 hours. Those students who choose not to complete an internship, or who have a Grade Point Average below credit level (GPA< 5.0), will undertake an industry-based project either as an individual, as a member of a team from their discipline, or in a multidisciplinary team.
