Course overview
This course aims to extend learners’ skills and knowledge in the practice of representational drawing of the human figure from direct observation. The course builds on students’ existing knowledge and skills in life drawing to conceptually situate drawing of the human figure within a variety of environments, contexts and processes to connect life drawing to professional practice. By incorporating a variety of approaches into their life drawing practice, learners will extend their observational, analytical and technical skills essential for creating original representational drawings. This course aligns with the program intent to provide an advanced understanding of representational drawing, as learners contextualise drawing skills and knowledge within their professional practice.
