Course overview

Students will gain an introduction to a variety of immersive media tools and technologies, such as virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed realities, and will explore the potentials of their implicit storytelling capacities. Working in groups to expand their creative, technical and conceptual skills, students will design and create an immersive media narrative. This course will help students to develop skills in team work, project design and management, collaborative storytelling.  

Course learning outcomes

  • define and articulate the narrative capacities within immersive media technologies for effective project development
  • display ethical and reflective practice with project development
  • demonstrate effective creative problem-solving skills in a team environment
  • develop an immersive media narrative-based project to completion in a team environment
