Course overview
A modern introduction to designing and creating web-based applications. The course covers client-server architecture, database fundamentals, and the principles behind writing software that functions over networks. Widely used web development languages and environments are compared and will be used by students to implement their own applications.
Course learning outcomes
- Understand and apply web application architecture
- Design and implement accessible and user friendly graphical user interfaces
- Manipulate data from databases and web applications
- Identify and discuss basic security and confidentiality issues in the development of web applications
- Interpret online web programming documentation (e.g., APIs)

If you are an international student, or a domestic student studying in a full fee paying place, and are continuing study that you commenced in 2025 or earlier, your fees will be available here before enrolments open for 2026.
