Course overview

This course equips learners with the human and technical design skills to create usable interactive systems. Modern interactive system necessitates a tight coupling between the system feedback (the gulf of evaluation) and the interaction with underlying data, algorithms, and systems (the gulf of execution). Students will practice human centred design processes, usability factors, rapid prototyping, and techniques for reflecting on a design throughout the development process. Students will learn technical skills in architecture design of interactive systems, design patterns, and the use of open-source frameworks to create interactive systems. This course aligns with the program aims to design and develop innovative solutions that demonstrate a high usability.

  • Designing For Usability
