Course overview

This course is designed to give students a broad understanding of information security and its practical use/implementation within the workforce. ISPP will largely be a technical course looking at various security aspects/shortcomings within a range of IT disciplines (networking, programming, operating systems, database, websites, etc). Students will be taught about common security flaws within each of these disciplines, how attackers exploit these flaws and what can be done to mitigate the respective threats. Non-technical topics such as cybercrime and risk management will also be looked at to give students an all-encompassing view of the IT security industry.
