Course overview

This course will provide students with an advanced understanding of the theoretical knowledge in the specialised area of communication management and public relations in order to identify and provide solutions to complex technical or strategic issues within contemporary practice. Students will build on knowledge and skills gained through their undergraduate study and direct their learning on the more specific theoretical and practical foundations of public relations and communication management. Topics covered include: the place and practice of public relations in society; the development of communication and public relations theory and its impact on professional practice; strategic issues management and research skills; ethics and corporate social responsibility, and critical reflection of communication management and public relations practice.
