Course overview
This course provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge of strategic analysis within the international business context and its impact on organisational management and leadership, business strategy, and business conduct. Students identify and define an issue of strategic importance to an industry or organisation within the international business context and present a report on this issue. In doing so, students integrate theory and practice learned in the MBA program and synthesise theories and practices through application of learning to real life situations.
Students completing the course develop a body of knowledge that:
Contributes to a comprehensive and integrated application of strategic analysis principles to recent developments in the field of senior organisational management and leadership in international business environments.
Provides a pathway for further learning.
Course learning outcomes
- Identify and define an issue of strategic importance to a chosen industry or organization within the context of international business
- Apply key tools and techniques within the broad disciplines of business administration to generate and analyse information pertinent to the presenting issue and its context
- Prepare a strategic briefing statement for presentation to academic faculty and key business and industry stakeholders concerned with issues of significance to international business activities at corporate/industry/national levels
- Reflect on the development and consolidation of communication, team and leaderships skills flowing from involvement in the business practicum
