Course overview
This course provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge of strategic analysis and review and its impact on organisational management and leadership, business strategy, and business conduct. To achieve this, students undertake a specific issues-focused project in industry that integrates theory and practice learned in the MBA program, enabling them to make a contribution to ongoing industry and organisation leadership discourse.
Students completing the course develop a body of knowledge that:
Contributes to a comprehensive and integrated application of strategic analysis principles to recent developments in the field of senior organisational management and leadership in international business environments.

- Identify and define an issue of strategic importance to a chosen industry or organisation
- Apply key tools and techniques from disciplines within the MBA program to generate and analyse information pertinent to the presenting issue and its context
- Prepare a strategic briefing statement for presentation to academic faculty and key industry stakeholders concerned with industry strategy and policy
- Reflect on the development and consolidation of individual and executive team skills flowing from involvement in the strategic issue analysis project?
- Develop a personal action plan to utilize and maintain leadership practice and skills gained from this component of the MBA program within their respective professional environments
