Course overview
This course provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge of:
The development and application of personal skills, character strengths, and strategies for personal change, to assist students to identify key personal strengths and skill gaps, and to develop strategies that enhance performance in organisational management and leadership.
Principles of research and decision making applicable to organisational management and leadership, on which the research content of other MBA courses is developed.
Students completing the course develop a body of knowledge that:
Contributes to a comprehensive and integrated application of principles of personal managerial skill development to recent developments in the field of senior organisational management and leadership in international business environments.
Provides a pathway for further learning.
Course learning outcomes
- Identify personal development needs for transition from a functional specialist to a manager
- Apply appropriate tools in analysing and solving problems and making decisions;
- Employ approaches and techniques that enhance communication at different levels of an organisation
- Create an environment conducive to changes in organisation;
- Apply tools for analysing differences in culture and the impact of national cultures on business and management principles and practices
