Course overview
This course will provide students with knowledge of the key principles, concepts, and tools of finance in order to equip them for roles as managers and as entrepreneurs. Topics covered include financial statement analysis and financial ratios, interest rates and valuing cash flows (time value of money), investment valuation and decision rules, risk and return, and cost of capital and capital budgeting.
Course learning outcomes
- Assess the financial implications of management decisions.
- Critically assess the financial situation of an organization.
- Evaluate alternative investments and enterprise funding arrangements.
- Demonstrate UniSA Business Enterprise Skills: (i) Self Management (intermediate level); (ii) Problem Solving (intermediate level); (iii) Written Communication (intermediate level); and (iv) Oral Communication (intermediate level).
