Course overview

The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the integral link between organisational change and organisational sustainability and equip students with a working knowledge of the organisational change literature and understanding of organisational politics and the processes involved in leading and managing change.

Course learning outcomes

  • Explain the pervasive nature of change, its significance on organisational sustainability, and how people and organisations respond differently to change.
  • Discuss and evaluate the process and principles associated with the various approaches and models of managing organisational change.
  • Critically analyse leadership issues in managing people and processes in organisational change.
  • Initiate, plan, manage and evaluate implementation of change in organisations.
  • Demonstrate Business Enterprise Skills: i) Problem Solving (intermediate level); and ii) Teamwork (intermediate level).
