Course overview
This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the nature of enterprise and entrepreneurship and introduces the role of the entrepreneur, innovation, and technology in the entrepreneurial process. Students will gain the theoretical and practical knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovation, and explore their impact on organisational management and leadership, business strategy, and business conduct.

Course learning outcomes
- Critically reflect on theoretical and practice-based principles of entrepreneurship and innovation, and the implications these have for organisational management and leadership.
- Critically evaluate the market and the competitive conditions for an entrepreneur, an innovation or a new technology to ground a market-driven new venture concept within the context of a newly formed venture, existing small to medium size growth-oriented venture, or an entrepreneurial venture within a larger corporation.
- Apply principles of entrepreneurship and innovation to develop an innovative business concept within the context of a stand-alone start-up, a corporate venture, a social enterprise, or a family business.
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication of an innovative business concept within a context of a stand-alone start-up, a corporate venture, a social enterprise, or a family business.
