Course overview
This course provides students with an understanding of the major concepts and theories of negotiation and the dynamics of interpersonal and intergroup conflict and resolution. The course will also develop practical skills in negotiation and training in identifying crucial elements of negotiation and implementing appropriate resolution strategies. This course combines collaborative and individual exercises that are theoretical and practical. These exercises allow students to reflect on negotiation experiences and outcomes and develop a reflective praxis, which are essential to constructing knowledge around negotiations and their dynamics as real-life phenomena. By adopting a problem-solving approach, this course gives students competencies and skills to understand, apply, analyse, evaluate, and develop negotiation plans, which are grounded in robust preparation and research. Students are assessed through a project and reflection.

Course learning outcomes
- Apply, analyse and evaluate the theory underlying conflict and negotiation, including conciliation, mediation and arbitration, with readings and seminar activities around the topics by completing the core requirements of this CLO in a project and reflection
