Course overview

This course is designed to introduce students to globalisation and the resultant commercial issues that must be addressed when conducting business across differing political, cultural, economic and accounting environments.

Course learning outcomes

  • Analyse and critique the current debates surrounding the impact of globalisation
  • Examine the impact of cultural and political systems on accounting methods
  • Identify various financial reporting and accounting issues arising from Australian businesses operating internationally
  • Apply and interpret accounting standards applicable to international business
  • Examine the strategic accounting issues that emerge from operating in a global environment
