Course overview
This course will provide students with an understanding of the business sector in contemporary society and the various functional areas of business, including ownership, management and human resources, decision-making, accounting and finance, operations and productions, marketing, and legal responsibility. Students will explore the opportunities available in business and develop their career skills, professionalism and their business communication skills. Students will explore business principles and the global business environment, including forms of business ownership, organisational structures, management processes, and ethical considerations in decision-making. They will develop an understanding of business operations and production and customer relationships through effective marketing, accounting, and financial statements and learn their implications for the different stakeholders (managers, investors, and creditors). They will also gain insight into business and personal legal liabilities and navigate e-business trends and career opportunities.
