Course overview
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the principles, methodologies, and diversity of biomedical research in practice. Research methods; principles of Biomedical Research; research funding; research governance frameworks; research ethics; research careers; biomedical research practical experience.
Course learning outcomes
- Explain and describe the nature of biomedical research and its role in society.
- Evaluate the value of existing biomedical research projects
- Describe the national guidelines for responsible conduct of research
- Observe biomedical research in practice.
- Obtain experience in supervised biomedical research practice and undertake self-reflection about that experience.
