Course overview
The course aims to develop and apply reflective research methodologies necessary for students to integrate theoretical, technological, social, environmental, and ethical considerations into design practice. It builds upon research strategies, techniques, and methodologies introduced in Research in/for/through Design, applying them to analyse and re-frame previous student projects. Particularly it emphasises practice-based research skills explored through design application, complimenting traditional forms of exegesis-based research activity, to identify pathways for future design practice. Assignments align with design proposals from preceding Design Studio courses, allowing students to familiarise themselves practice-based research.
