Course overview

This course provides an opportunity to students to work independently on a chosen topic under the guidance of a supervisor. The topic of study can either be offered by the supervisor or proposed by the student and has to be mutually agreed by both parties.

Course learning outcomes

  • Define a problem in the natural or built environment
  • Apply appropriate techniques and knowledge to the solution or improved understanding of a problem in the natural or built environment
  • Apply professional standards such as report writing, graphical presentation, punctuality, working to deadlines and client relationships
  • Where appropriate, work in as member of a team in addressing a specific project
