Course overview
This course aims to introduce students to a range of themes relevant to the provision of transport and infrastructure in development, in both urban and regional settings, such as: the role of transport and infrastructure as determinants of urban form; key considerations in master-planning transport and infrastructure systems (water, energy and communications); the planning issues associated with the planning of major infrastructure elements; transport modelling; public transport; planning activity centres; transport networks; and planning for zero carbon emissions transport and infrastructure. This course develops a student’s problem-solving skills for the purposes of developing a strategic transport and infrastructure master plan for a proposed or developed area.
