Course overview
This course aims to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in inclusive interior design. Building upon foundational concepts introduced earlier, the course explores the impact of design practices on diverse populations, emphasising accessibility and social inclusion. Students will analyse cultural, historical, and socio-economic factors to create design strategies that advocate for marginalised communities, particularly First Nations peoples, individuals with disabilities, and gender-diverse groups. Through practical assignments, case studies, and design projects, students will develop and refine comprehensive design proposals, gaining a holistic understanding of inclusive design principles and fostering innovative solutions that promote social justice and equity in interior spaces.
