Adelaide University’s first senior executive mission takes flight to the UK and India
Adelaide University held its first Senior Executive Mission in March, visiting the United Kingdom and India.
Co-Vice Chancellors Professor Peter Høj AC and Professor David Lloyd, together with Deputy Vice Chancellor International and External Engagement (DVCIEE) Professor Jessica Gallagher, led the Mission to raise the profile of Adelaide University and engage key stakeholders.
In the United Kingdom, the delegation hosted the inaugural Adelaide University alumni reception in London. The event brought together more than 80 alumni and guests from the founding institutions to showcase our shared vision for the future, with special guest speaker His Excellency The Honourable Stephen Smith, Australia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. The delegation also met with Australian Government representatives and strategic partners to highlight how collaboration and knowledge sharing can drive innovation and transformative change.
In India, the co-Vice Chancellors participated in a StudyAdelaide panel session in New Delhi alongside South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas. The group also attended a networking reception hosted by His Excellency Philip Green, Australian High Commissioner to India, at the Australian High Commission in New Delhi. The delegation engaged with key institutions in Bangalore and New Delhi, including the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Adelaide University was also represented at the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference, with a dedicated booth and DVCIEE Professor Gallagher participating in panel sessions on global partnership development and quality and innovation in international student recruitment.
In 2025, a series of Senior Executive Missions will further strengthen Adelaide University’s global partnerships through high-level engagement with sponsors, foreign and Australian Government diplomatic representatives, agents, alumni, industry and institutional partners.
