What bridging courses or pathways can I take into Adelaide University as a domestic student?

Last Modified: 13/Jul/2024

As a university with a strong commitment to equity and access, we believe that people should have equal opportunities for further education. We offer a range of entry pathways to university study including:

  • Foundation Studies is a free, six-month program that will allow you to study core courses to develop critical writing, research, and overall study skills. This program is also a great option to put down as your preference six in case you don’t qualify for your higher preferences. Successful completion of Foundation Studies guarantees entry into Undergraduate Certificates and Diplomas with University of South Australia, regardless of Grade Point Average (GPA).
  • Diplomas are one year of full-time study and will offer up to two subjects as credit toward your future degree. Our Diplomas offer 21 specialisations across areas in Business, Creative Studies, Education Studies, Health, Social Sciences and STEM.
  • Undergraduate Certificates in University Studies are six-month programs with specialisations in Business, Creative Studies, Education Studies, Health, Social Sciences and STEM. This pathway option is ideal if you first complete University of South Australia Foundation Studies or enrol in a University of South Australia or UniSA Online degree but find you are interested in exploring a different discipline.
  • Aboriginal Pathway Program is a free, one-year program specifically designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with no previous qualifications, which enables you to competitively apply for your preferred University of South Australia degree using your Grade Point Average (GPA).
  • The University Preparatory Program (UPP) is a free one-year program for anyone who wants to get ready to enter university. It has been designed for those who have never been to university or have not studied for a long period of time. Best of all, there are no prerequisites for entry into the UPP. The program will help you to improve your skills in numeracy, literacy and research, while introducing university culture. The program aims to give you the tools to become a successful university student so you will come away from the program with the confidence to go on to further university study.
