How do I arrange temporary and longer-term accommodation?

Last Modified: 13/Jul/2024

There is a range of temporary accommodation options to consider, depending on your budget and needs.

Student and back-packer hostels are usually a good option if you are on a budget and keen to meet new people, while a hotel or serviced apartment may be preferable if you are looking for some privacy. If you are interested in a more supportive option, you may want to consider a homestay to build your confidence as you familiarise yourself with Australia.

Generally, most temporary accommodation can be booked online directly through the accommodation provider.

Longer-term accommodation options available include student apartments, residential colleges and private rentals. The application process for longer-term accommodation may differ depending on the type of accommodation you are applying for so enquire directly with the provider for more information if you are unsure.

The Adelaide University Accommodation Service can answer your questions about accommodation.
