How do I defer my offer to Adelaide University as a domestic student?
Last Modified: 14/Aug/2024
Once you've deferred, your position in the program will be held until the next main intake. We will contact you prior to check if you'd like to enrol for the next intake, or if you'd like to defer again. It's important to keep your contact details up to date to ensure we can contact you.
If you have not yet enrolled, you will need to update your offer via the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC). Offers can be deferred by logging into mySATAC and changing your response to your offer to DEFER.
If you have already enrolled but have not started your program, you will need to unenrol from all your classes for the year before the census date for the study period you are enrolled in. This will prevent you from being charged tuition fees and will ensure you don't register a record of study from the program you have withdrawn from. If you do not do this before the census date, you will be required to pay tuition fees for all enrolled courses and may receive a Withdraw Fail (WF) grade, which will impact your overall Grade Point Average (GPA).
For key dates including census dates and exam periods, you can view our Academic Calendar.
If you have already started studying your program and have attempted an assessment for at least one course, you will need to take leave of absence from study if you wish to temporarily stop studying. This leave of absence will be applicable for up to 12 months.
Please note not all undergraduate or postgraduate programs can be deferred. Please check your degree page for details.
