The Vera May Swift Scholarship was established in 1994 at the University of Adelaide to support students undertaking an undergraduate program and intends to major in English.
Value: $3,500 paid in one instalment.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a first year student intending to major in English in subsequent years of study
- Be enrolled in the first year of one of the following programs (or equivalent)
Bachelor of Arts
Bachelor of Arts majoring in English Literature
Bachelor of Creative Arts
Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary)(Honours)
Bachelor of Teaching (Primary)(Honours) - Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA from semester 1)
- Answers to questions on the application form
