Susan Seymour inspired her family and friends with her generosity and love. She was a source of compassion and kindness to those who needed help‘ whether human or non-human. With Susan's example in mind‘ her two sons Liam and Jaylen and her wider family have been moved to establish this grant in her name. Susan's career was spent in service to the University of South Australia. She loved her work and was dedicated to the University community and to the many students who commenced and completed their studies. Susan's family conceived this grant as a gift to help a first-year student in financial need to enable them to continue their studies at Adelaide University. The grant embodies Susan's generosity and her commitment to social justice.
The Susan Seymour Student Grant is available to commencing students in financial need studying any undergraduate program at Adelaide University. There are two grants available each year‘ with a preference to award one of these grants to a social sciences, humanities, or arts student.
The grant recognises that many university students face financial and other hardships while pursuing their dream of attaining a tertiary qualification.
