The late Shirley Harper was an early childhood teacher and her family has dedicated this scholarship in honour of her memory and life work in education.
The scholarship is valued at $4‚000 per annum (for up to four years)‚ and will be awarded to a financially disadvantaged Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student enrolled in the Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood‚ Primary or Primary and Middle streams) and studying full-time. The scholarship will be open to commencing students‚ existing Adelaide University students or students returning to study.
Value: $4‚000 per annum (up to four years)
The payment is split into two instalments:
• $2000 following the Semester 1 Census Date
• $2000 following the Semester 2 Census Date

Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need and will be required to participate in an interview as part of the selection process.
Continuance of the scholarship is subject to satisfactory academic progress.
Students may be in receipt of other scholarships or grants administered by Adelaide University.
