The Resthaven Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Allied Health Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time first‚ second or third year undergraduate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student undertaking an eligible allied health program at any Adelaide University campus (includes Mt Gambier and Whyalla).
Value: The value of each scholarship will be $10‚000 for a period of two years paid in four instalments of $2‚500 after the Semester 1 and 2 census dates each year‚ giving a total of $10‚000 for each scholarship.

Eligibility criteria:
⦁ Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student
⦁ Enrolled full-time in an eligible first‚ second or third year undergraduate program at Adelaide University.
⦁ Have a satisfactory GPA – 4.5 or above (not applicable to first-year students)
⦁ Be willing to speak conductively and positively about the important work that health care professionals undertake in aged care
⦁ Demonstrate financial and/or other educational barriers that impact access to study or continued study
⦁ Be willing to choose an Aged Care specialisation for their Practicum if one is available
⦁ Be willing to undertake a placement at Resthaven if one is offered
⦁ Submission of a written statement.
⦁ Be willing to attend an interview if required
The scholarship will be awarded based upon academic merit (with a GPA of at least 4.5 required for applicants in second or third year) and seek applications from students who have a genuine interest in aged care as a career and in their studies‚ and are prepared to undertake a placement at Resthaven during their program if such a placement is available.
Recipients are strongly encouraged to express a preference for Resthaven in any pre-allocation placement request, if offered, and undertake at least one program placement at a Resthaven site. Recipients will be invited to meet with Resthaven soon after receiving the scholarship.
