The
Refugee Student Grant provides encouragement and support for students in financial need as they embark
on their studies. Applicants will be commencing students
to the University from a refugee or humanitarian background who are studying at Adelaide University.
They can be an Adelaide University Pathways and Participation student, or an undergraduate student in any program.
The grant funds are designed to assist recipients with their living and/or education expenses.
Value: $2,500
Payment will be in two instalments:
$1,250 (paid after the census date for Semester 1)
$1,250 (paid after the census date for Semester 2)

Eligibility and Selection Criteria
⦁ Australian Citizen‚ Australian Permanent Resident or the holders of Permanent Humanitarian Visa‚ New Zealand Citizen, or Temporary Resident.
⦁ Refugee or Humanitarian background.
⦁ Commencing student to the University enrolled in an undergraduate or Pathways and Participation program.
⦁ Demonstrated financial disadvantage.
⦁ Full-time study load.
⦁ Submission of a written statement.
Applicants are required to provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:
⦁ Reasons for studying their Adelaide University program and how the degree supports their aspirations including career goals.
⦁ Their background prior to Adelaide University study.
⦁ Academic achievements.
⦁ The financial and/or educational disadvantages that the applicant wishes to be taken into account.
⦁ How the grant funds will benefit them and their study.
