Recognising the significant costs associated with relocating to Adelaide from rural and remote areas, the REDARC Rural Commencement Grant has been established by REDARC to support eligible rural students in their transition to university life. The Grant shall provide financial assistance towards moving expenses, accommodation, and establishment costs to students who demonstrated financial need and are commencing the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) (Honours) program of study.
Value: $5,000 per year to be paid in two instalments.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be commencing a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)(Honours)
- Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances. * Evidence of Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) application or approval does not demonstrate financial need.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form
- Preference for a student who has relocated from a regional, rural or remote location to undertake study at Adelaide University

- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The grant must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
