In 1971, Oliver Rutherford Turner bequeathed one half of his residuary estate to the University of Adelaide for the purpose of assisting dental students to continue their studies at the University.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be undertaking the second or subsequent year of undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program in the School of Dentistry at Adelaide University.
- Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen, holder of a permanent humanitarian visa or international student
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit
- Answers to questions on the application form
