The O’Connors Engineering Grant will be awarded to a student enrolled full-time in either the second year‚ third year‚ or fourth year of one of the following programs:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical and Mechatronic)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical and Advanced Manufacturing)
Value: The
recipient will receive up to $5‚000. The $5‚000 will be paid in two instalments
of $2‚500‚ the first payment will take place after the Semester 1 census date
in the recipient’s relevant year of study‚ with final payment taking place
after the Semester 2 census date in the relevant year of study (provided the
recipient maintains full-time enrolment and satisfactory academic progress).

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship‚ applicants must:
- be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia, Holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa or New Zealand Citizen
- be a continuing second year, third year, or fourth year student
- have full-time enrolment in an eligible mechanical engineering program
- provide a written statement clearly addressing the points listed below
- provide a Curriculum Vitae
- attend an interview
Candidate selection
Applicants must provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:
- academic achievements
- future career goals
- their intended topic for their final year project. Preference may be given to students that demonstrate a focus on innovation for their final year project (if applicable)
- any financial and/or other educational barriers that impact access to study or continued study.
