In 2021, Dr Neville Arthur bequeathed money to the University of Adelaide, to provide a scholarship to students studying the Physical Sciences. Dr Arthur was proud of his association with Science at the University, graduating from a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in 1962 and completing his PhD in Physical & Inorganic Chemistry in 1967. Dr Arthur’s legacy encourages students to pursue their interest in the same area.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be undertaking an Honours research project in the area of Physics or Chemistry
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia, or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Answers to questions on the application form
