The scholarship has been established to honour the late Linda Lou Murphy who was a highly regarded South Australian artist known for performances that included the adornment of the body by complex folded paper forms. The interplay between skin/paper, artefact/body, and risk as a positive force were some of the themes that informed her work.
The scholarship is open to commencing or continuing students who are enrolled in an eligible fine arts program (minimum load of 12 units per study period) and preference may be given to a first year student.
Value: $5,000 paid in two instalments of $2,500. The first payment will be made after the Semester 1 census date, and the final payment will be made after the Semester 2 census date, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
