Celebrating student academic achievements and excellence

Adelaide University celebrates student excellence through prizes made possible by generous donations from industry, community members and non-profit organisations.

Some prizes are endowed, meaning they’re funded in perpetuity through a trust. Others are supported for a set period. The University’s longest-standing prize, the John Howard Clarke Prize, has been awarded continuously since 1880.

How are prizes awarded?

Prizes are different from scholarships. You generally don’t apply for a prize. They’re awarded based on criteria agreed with the donor, and usually given the year after they’re earned. This timing helps manage the large number of prizes and ensures recipients meet all conditions.

How will I know if I’ve won a prize?

You’ll receive an email to your university email address. If it’s a monetary prize, you can update your bank details when you accept the prize via the myScholarship portal to receive your prize payment.

Will my prize be recorded on my transcript or AHEGS?

Yes. Your prize will be listed on your academic transcript and your Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS).
