A merit-based top-up scholarship donated in 2011 by Mrs Decie Denholm in memory of her late husband Lawrence Forbes Denholm and the life they made together. Mrs Denholm was a University of Adelaide employee for 22 years and a Visting Research Fellow from 1989. Mr Denholm was a newspaper sub-editor, with a strong interest in music who regularly enjoyed attending the University of Adelaide's Elder Conservatorium of Music and School of Performing Arts.
This scholarship is for eligible commencing graduate research candidates in the field of European (including British) History. The successful applicant must also be in receipt of a major scholarship. Recipients will receive a top-up stipend of $5,000 p.a. for up to 3.5 years.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible to hold the Scholarship, a candidate must:
- be commencing a full-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program at the University;
- be undertaking research in the field of European (including British) history; and
- be a recipient of a major scholarship at the University.
Candidate selection
The Scholarship will be awarded via a competitive selection process based on academic merit, research potential and relevance of academic research.
