The King Family Pathway Grant assists students to transition to university study.
Value: $5,000
Payment will be in two instalments:
$2,500 (paid after the census date in Semester 1)
$2,500 (paid after the census date in Semester 2)
Note: recipients who commenced the pathway program in the previous year may receive the full $5,000 lump sum payment in their final semester of study.
Open for applications in Semester 1
Pro-rata payments will apply for part-time enrolment.
Payment is subject to continued enrolment in a pathway program or an Adelaide University undergraduate degree and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.

Eligibility
All domestic students who meet the entry requirements for a pathway program and are currently enrolled in one of the following programs are eligible to apply;
• Foundation Studies
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway
Eligibility and selection criteria:
• Australian Citizen‚ Australian Permanent Resident, the holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa, New Zealand Citizen
• enrolled in an eligible pathway program
• full-time or part-time student
• preference will be given to applicants who don’t hold another current scholarship or grant
Selection criteria
Applicants must provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:• Their background before studying.
• Reasons for studying their pathway program and how it supports future career goals.
• Details of any financial and/or other educational barriers that impact access to study that they would like considered.
• How the grant funds will benefit them.
• Work experience, community involvement and/or extracurricular activities.
• The name of any scholarships or grants currently held (or where an application is pending).
The grant will be awarded based on the content of the written statement, financial need and passion for tertiary education.

Pathway programs (also called preparatory programs) help students from diverse backgrounds gain entry to their preferred degree while building the academic skills needed to thrive at university. These programs provide access to support services and allow students to experience life as an Adelaide University student before commencing their degree.
