The Kemp Family Aboriginal Psychology Grant is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate psychology programs at any year level.
The Grant funds are unrestricted enabling recipients to direct funds to the area of greatest need (study costs‚ living expenses‚ placement costs‚ travel‚ or tuition fees).
Value:
$5‚000 in two instalments of $2‚500.
Scholarship recipients who are enrolled part-time will receive pro-rata payments.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Grants‚ applicants must:
⦁ Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student
⦁ Be enrolled full-time or part-time in one of the eligible programs listed below:
⦁ Be experiencing financial and/or other educational barriers that impact access to study or continued study
⦁ Provide a written statement addressing the points listed below

⦁ Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) On-campus
⦁ Bachelor of Psychology On-campus
⦁ Bachelor of Psychology (Counselling and Interpersonal Skills) On-campus
⦁ Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) (Cognitive Neuroscience) On-campus
⦁ Bachelor of Psychology (100% Online)
⦁ Bachelor of Psychology (Cognitive Neuroscience) On-campus
Applicants must demonstrate financial need to apply be eligible for the grant. This can be done by providing evidence of current receipt of a Health Care Card and/or a means-tested Centrelink benefit e.g. Austudy‚ Abstudy‚ Youth Allowance‚ etc.
Applicants not in receipt of government means tested benefits can complete the Adelaide University Financial Details for Scholarship Eligibility form‚ to support their application.
Selection criteria
Applicants must provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:
⦁ Personal background
⦁ Reasons for studying their Adelaide University Psychology program and future career goals
⦁ How the grant funds would alleviate financial and/or other educational barriers that impact access to study or continued study and help achieve these goals
⦁ Academic achievements (including current cumulative GPA or ATAR)
⦁ Community involvement and/or extracurricular activities/interests
The scholarship will be awarded based on the written statement outlining why the applicant would be a worthy recipient.
Important information
Previous recipients of the grant are eligible to reapply‚ however‚ preference may be given to applicants who have not already received the grant.
