The Junction Thrive Aboriginal Grant is available to full-time Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in any year of a psychology or social work undergraduate program at Adelaide University.

Value:
$5‚000 in two instalments of $2‚500 after Semester 1 and Semester 2 census dates (subject to enrolment checks and satisfactory academic progression).

Eligibility

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
• be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student
• be enrolled full-time in one of the following on-campus undergraduate programs (including associated majors):
• Bachelor of Social Work (On Campus)
• Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) (On Campus)
• Bachelor of Psychology (On Campus)
• Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) (On Campus)
• provide a written statement clearly addressing the points listed below

Selection criteria

Applicants must provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:
• reasons for studying your program and how this supports your future career goals
• any financial and/or other educational barriers that impact access to study or continued study you wish to be considered
• community involvement and/or extracurricular activities/interests

Important information

The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit (ATAR or equivalent for first year students, or GPA for second, third or fourth year students) and the written statement outlining why the applicant would be a worthy recipient.

Previous recipients of the grant are eligible to reapply; however, preference may be given to applicants who have not already received the grant.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need to apply for the grant. This can be done by providing evidence of current receipt of a Health Care Card and/or a means-tested Centrelink benefit e.g. Austudy, Abstudy, Youth Allowance, etc. Applicants not in receipt of government means tested benefits can complete Adelaide University’s Financial Details for Scholarship Eligibility form, to support their application.
