The John F Kennedy Scholarship was established in 1964 at the University of Adelaide by the Australian-American Association in South Australia Incorporated, in memory of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, President of the United States of America from 1961-1963. The Scholarship aims to encourage studies in the fields of President Kennedy’s own interests: politics, international relations and history.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be undertaking the Honours Degree of Bachelor of Arts majoring in History, the Honours Degree of Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics, or the final year of a Bachelor of International Relations
- Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Answers to questions on the application form
