The Ian D. McLachlan Memorial Grant was established in recognition of Ian McLachlan's commitment as a long-standing Council member of the University, who died on 30 April 2011. Ian was a member of the University's Finance Committee from July 1998 until April 2011 and joined the University Council as a co-opted member in 2000 and continued to serve as a Member of Council until April 2011. Ian also made significant contributions to the University through his role as Presiding Officer to the University's Audit and Risk Management Committee from 2005 until April 2011; and as Director of the ITEK Pty Ltd Board (UniSA's commercial arm) since 2006.
Value: $5,000. Payment will be made in two instalments of $2,500 each, after the Semester 1 and Semester 2 census dates provided the recipient continues to meet the grant criteria and maintains satisfactory academic progress

One grant‚ valued at $5‚000‚ will be awarded each year to a final year‚ full-time student from one of the following programs:
⦁ BCOMM - Bachelor of Commerce
⦁ BCOMM - Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)
⦁ BCOMM - Bachelor of Commerce (Banking and Finance)
⦁ ZBCBC - Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting‚ Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Banking and Finance
⦁ DHLD - Bachelor of Laws (Honours)‚ Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or DHLF – Bachelor of Laws (Honours)‚ Bachelor of Accounting
Students who completed Year 11 or 12 at Unley High School‚ or are from rural, regional and remote communities* will be encouraged to apply but it is not an essential criterion.
*Home postcode as recorded in the student record, must be outside of Major Cities in Australia based on the ASGC Remoteness Area result from the Health Workforce locator.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents of Australia, Holders of Permanent Humanitarian Visa or New Zealand Citizens.
Applicants must submit a personal written statement (500 words) detailing career and personal goals and how the scholarship will assist their studies. Applicants who completed Year 11 or 12 at Unley High School‚ or are from rural, regional or remote community should include this information in their personal written statement.
The grant will be awarded on the basis of interview‚ financial and/or other educational barriers that impact access to study or continued study‚ academic merit and submission of a written statement.
Continuance of the grant is subject to satisfactory academic performance and the recipient should maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 or above.
