The grant will be awarded to a female Adelaide University undergraduate student from a refugee or humanitarian background who is required to pay tuition fees for their program upfront. The student will typically be classified as a Permanent Resident of Australia; however‚ eligibility extends to any student from a refugee background or humanitarian who is unable to defer the costs of their program.
Value: $5‚000
Two equal instalments of:
$2‚500.00 after Semester 1 census date
$2‚500.00 after Semester 2 census date
Payment of second installment is subject to recipient;

⦁ Maintaining satisfactory academic progress
Pro-rata payment applies to recipients studying on a part-time basis.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the grant‚ applicants must be:⦁ A female student.
⦁ Student from a refugee or humanitarian background.
⦁ Required to pay student contribution or tuition fees upfront.
⦁ An undergraduate student.
⦁ A commencing or continuing student.
⦁ Full-time or part-time student.
⦁ Experiencing financial need.
Selection criteria
Applicants must provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:⦁ Status as a person from a refugee or humanitarian background and current residency status (documentary evidence also required).
⦁ Reasons for studying their current program and future career goals.
⦁ Details of any financial and/or other educational barriers that impact access to study or continued study, they would like considered‚ including the amount of tuition fees payable upfront each semester.
⦁ How the grant funds would benefit them.
⦁ Work experience‚ community involvement and/or extracurricular activities.
⦁ The name of any scholarships or grants currently held (or where an application is pending).
Important information
Applicants need to demonstrate financial need to apply for the grant. This can be done by providing evidence of current receipt of a Health Care Card and/or a Centrelink benefit e.g. Austudy‚ Abstudy‚ Youth Allowance‚ etc. Applicants not in receipt of government benefits can complete the Adelaide University Financial Details for Scholarship Eligibility Form‚ to support their application.Contact us
