The Scholarship was established by Heavy Industry Low-Carbon Transition Cooperative Research Centre (HILT CRC), a collaborative venture that brings together industries, researchers, and government organisations to share the responsibility for the big shift of decarbonisation.
The HILT CRC Scholarship supports undergraduate coursework students undertaking their third and fourth year of a Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and/or Mining and Mineral Engineering program of study at Adelaide University.

Value: $7,500 per year to be paid in two instalments.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be undertaking third year of a single or double degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and/or Mining and Mineral Engineering program at Adelaide University
- Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form
- Preference for students undertaking courses in the areas of Metallurgical Processes, Combustion Processes or Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage, courses well aligned with the HILT CRC goals and objectives.
