The Hilda and Sandy Anderson Scholarship was established in 2019 at the University of Adelaide as a result of a generous gift from Penelope Gavin Zucchi (nee Anderson), Caesar Zucchi, Fiona Gavin Anderson and Nimish Pandey in memory of their parents and parents in law, Sylvia Hilda Anderson (nee Lewis) (B. Sc 1950, B. Sc (Hons) 1951, M. Sc 1954) and Alexander (Sandy) Gavin Anderson (Associate Diploma in Elec Eng 1959). The Scholarship supports undergraduate coursework students commencing a program of study in the College of Behavioural & Social Sciences, College of Engineering and Information Technology, College of Health and the College of Science. Preference will be given to students who have relocated from a regional, rural or remote area to undertake study.
Value: $12,000 per year to be paid in two instalments.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be commencing a selected program of study at Adelaide University.
- The program must be in one of the following disciplines:
Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Environmental)
Health & Medical Sciences (Dentistry,
Nursing, Oral Health, Medicine)
Behavioural
& Social Sciences (Psychology)
Sciences
(Physical, Veterinary, Agricultural, Biological).
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
* Evidence of Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) application or approval does not demonstrate financial need.

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (ATAR)
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form
- Preference for a student who has relocated from a regional, rural or remote location to undertake study at Adelaide University

- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may not apply for this Scholarship
