Gladys Elphick MBE was a highly respected member of the local *Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community of South Australia. She was particularly active in the development of services in the areas of lobbying which culminated in the establishment of the first Aboriginal community controlled health service in the Adelaide region‚ which continues on today in the form of Nunkuwarrin Yunti of SA Inc. An anonymous donor has provided a bequest to Adelaide University‚ College of Health‚ to allow a scholarship to be awarded in memory of Gladys Elphick. This bequest has been used to fund a scholarship in support of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student undertaking studies within the College.

To be eligible for the Scholarship‚ applicants must:
⦁ Be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student
⦁ Be a continuing second, third or fourth year student in one of the College of Health programs listed below
⦁ Provide a written statement addressing the points listed below.

⦁ Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours)
⦁ Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours)
⦁ Bachelor of Podiatry
⦁ Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science
⦁ Bachelor of Human Movement
⦁ Bachelor of Public Health
⦁ Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours)
Applicants must provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) that includes:
⦁ Reasons for studying your current program and your interests within that program
⦁ Reasons for applying for this scholarship
⦁ Briefly discuss your future interests and intentions in your professional area after completion of your degree.
Selection will be made based on merit principles‚ measured against information provided in the application.
This Scholarship may be held in conjunction with other scholarships.
