In 1919, Ellen Milne Bundey, a graduate of the University of Adelaide, bequeathed money to the University of Adelaide to establish a scholarship or scholarships for the encouragement of original research in botany or forestry to be called the “Ernest Ayers Scholarship” to perpetuate the memory of Arthur Ernest Ayers and his wife Barbara Angus Ayers. The Scholarship supports students who are undertaking an Honours program of study with research in Botany

Value: $3,000 to be paid in two equal instalments.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be undertaking an Honours program with a research project in botany
- Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Relevance of research in botany

- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
