The Dr Silvio Tarca Memorial Scholarship was established by the Milner Road Foundation in memory of Dr Silvio Tarca.
During his lifetime, Dr Tarca was passionate about providing support to students in need and these scholarships will continue his legacy. The scholarships will be awarded to students undertaking a science, technology, engineering or mathematics, with a preference to support holders of a Humanitarian Visa or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be commencing an undergraduate degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
* Evidence of Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) application or approval does not demonstrate financial need.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Demonstrated financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form
- Preference for a student who holds a permanent humanitarian visa Preference for a student who identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

- You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
