The Don Alexander Scholarship in Water Engineering has been established in 2019 at the University of Adelaide as a result of a generous donation received from Don Alexander’s daughters, Elinor, Felicity and Meg. The scholarship supports students who are undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) (Honours) program of study at Adelaide University.

Value: $5,000 to be paid in two equal instalments.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be undertaking the first, second, third or fourth year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) (Honours) (including combined and double degrees)
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia, New Zealand Citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
* Evidence of Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) application or approval does not demonstrate financial need.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (ATAR or GPA)
- Financial need
- Response to how water resources should be managed in the future
- Answers to questions on the application form

- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
