The Tom and Elizabeth Hunter Scholarship was established at the University of Adelaide in 2015 by Mr Alastair Hunter OAM, in memory of his parents Tom and Elizabeth Hunter. The scholarship supports students in financial need who are undertaking their first and subsequent years of the Doctor of Medicine program of study.

Value: $6,500 per year to be paid in two instalments.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be commencing the Doctor of Medicine
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
- Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
- Demonstrate you are in financial need*
* Applicants must demonstrate financial need and provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.
Selection criteria
Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:
- Academic merit (GPA)
- Financial need
- Answers to questions on the application form

- The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
- Students receiving other Adelaide University Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
